Neighborhood Energy Navigator - Minneapolis
Kyla Sisson got interested in home energy when it was too hot to sleep at night. Worried about a future of increasingly hot summers, she knew she needed to figure out how to cool her Minneapolis home without breaking the bank. After receiving understandable information about how her house worked through an energy audit, she felt empowered to learn more and enrolled in CEE’s Home Energy workforce training program.
Now equipped with a BPI certificate in Building Science Principles and personal experience navigating the maze of affordability programs, Kyla looks forward to supporting others on their journeys and believes that together we can make our neighborhoods liveable for everyone.
When Kyla isn’t thinking about energy efficiency access, you can find her organizing a group for LGBTQ+ adults with disabilities, holding a snake at Tamarack Nature Center, hosting a potluck, or singing in community.
